Helan Vetiver and Rum Facial Moisturizer Cream, Preservative Free 50ml

All products containing water, and especially cosmetics, represent an ideal environment for bacterial growth and therefore need measures to prevent bacterial invasion that would damage the product and most importantly, the skin to which it is applied. Production and commercial distribution of cosmetics in Italy is regulated by a law (713/86) similar to those in the rest of the European Community, clearly listing all permitted preservative substances and their maximum amount allowed in order to avoid excessive dosages that may cause undesirable irritating effects. Advanced cosmetic research discovered a number of substances (lipo-amino acids, enzymes, essential oils) with high cosmetic performances and at the same time the ability to inhibit microbiological growth. Employing these substances therefore means the possibility to avoid the use of preservatives listed in the above mentioned law. With the object of advancing further on the way of more natural cosmetics, Helan carried out a series of tests on formulas containing lipo-amino acids, enzymes and essential oils. The excellent results confirmed the possibility of excluding the use of traditional preservatives from a number of cosmetic products that are now proud to label as “PRESERVATIVE FREE”.
